I've focused a lot of time over the last few years on turning inward to examine what's going on in the background of my thoughts and feelings. I like to dig deeper into the 'why' I feel or act the way I do and have had to learn to be more kind to myself in the process of doing so. I guess you could say that mental health and emotional well-being have become a personal and professional interest of mine, and I've created a lifestyle wherein I spend most of my time either writing, thinking, or talking about it.
I have a background in psychology, gender and women's studies, and professional counselling. My hope is that by sharing some of my experiences and perspectives on feeling into the vulnerable and sometimes scary parts of myself that others will feel comfortable in doing so as well.
