Cory Bedford Repair Services

Hello! My name is Cory Bedford, I offer setup and repair services on guitars and basses. I got my start in guitar repair a decade ago while working as an Audio Video Technician. When I wasn’t troubleshooting and installing professional grade A/V equipment in churches, schools, and auditoriums across the Midwest, I was working on instruments for colleagues and friends. I found that I really enjoyed diving into the inner workings of an instrument to inspect, diagnose, and repair whatever issues came in. Ten years later I’m still excited when an instrument comes into the shop. As a musician for over 15 years, I take great pride in working with guitarists of all skill levels to ensure their instrument is both comfortable and enjoyable to play. I have been happy to work with Muse over the last year and look forward to serving the Oskaloosa area for years to come! Payment & Pick Up Policy Once your instrument is repaired, we will notify you via the contact information you provided at intake. Invoices must be paid in full at the time of pick up. $30 of the Intake/Bench Fee will be applied to the final invoice total. As space is limited, we greatly appreciate when repairs are picked up within 7 days of being sent notice. If pick up is not completed within 30 days, a storage fee of $10 per day following will be added to the invoice. At 60 days without pick up a certified letter will be mailed with an updated invoice total. After 90 days, the instrument will be considered abandoned and will be claimed as payment and/or sold to cover the cost of repairs. We will make regular attempts to notify you that your instrument is available over the course of those 90 days. Thank you for your understanding.

Adam

Hi! My name is Adam LeFevre. I have been playing trombone for about 18 years, and I have a music degree from the University of Michigan. where I studied Trombone performance and music theory. Learning new instruments is a passion of mine. I have performed professionally on more than 15 distinct instruments and have spent time learning dozens more. Through Muse, I teach 12 different instruments: Trombone, Trumpet, French Horn, Tuba, Euphonium, Clarinet, Saxophone, Piano, Banjo, Bass Guitar, Accordion, and Recorder. For clarinet and saxophone, I only teach beginners, but for every other instrument on that list, I teach all levels from beginner to aspiring pro. I strive to promote a positive and friendly learning environment for all my students. Whether you’ve never touched a mouthpiece before, or you’ve been playing for years, I have studied with some of the best musicians in the world, and I can use all of that experience to help you take your musicianship to the next level.

Aleksandra

Howdy, I'm Aleksandra! I grew up here in Oskaloosa where learned to play violin and continued my education on the instrument with Professor Borivoj Jercic-Martinic at Iowa State University. Afterwards, I received my Master's Degree in writing music for movies and video games at the European Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria. Music is central to nearly all aspects of my life and I am excited meet and work with your creative needs through both one-on-one violin lessons and music production! :)

I was born and raised in New Sharon Iowa; Music has always been an important part of my life. I grew up listening to a lot of different music. I have several older brothers and sisters that shaped my wide variety in music taste, everything from the classical era, to rock, to country, pop and so much more. I'm an aspiring singer, songwriter, and music producer and I plan to attend Willaim Penn University in the fall of 2022 to study music.

Autumn

I first began studying piano at the age of 9, and continued studying on and off at both the private and college levels for about 20 years. I added private voice lessons when I turned 13, and entered a two year Actor’s Training Program after graduating from high school, where I met the voice teacher I studied with for the next 10 years. I briefly studied opera at CSU Sacramento, and made my professional opera debut at Sacramento Opera’s production of Madama Butterfly. I first began teaching about 7 years ago, and love inspiring and guiding young musicians. I’ve taught piano to students as young as 4, and have worked with students up through the intermediate levels. I work with voice students aged 8-99 in a variety of styles, including country, contemporary, music theater, and classical. I am a firm believer that anyone can learn to sing.

Cami

Hello! My name is Cammela Sword, but I also go by Cam or Cami. I grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa, and have recently started teaching piano lessons at the Muse. I grew up in a household filled with music, so it has always been a very important part of my life. I’ve been playing for about 17 years. I started taking piano lessons when I was 5 and I’ve been in love ever since! Some of my passions include music, painting, and teaching. My favorite classical pianists would have to be Claude Debussy, Erik Satie, and Franz Liszt because I love a good challenge. I teach beginner to intermediate piano. I am very excited to share my knowledge of music, and can’t wait to bring out the musician in you!

Camryn

Hey! I’m Camryn Schultz. I was born and raised around musicians and music of all genres. I have found a passion for playing the ukulele! I have been to concerts seeing my favorite artists like Zach Flaherty, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift. Being a music lover and watching my family communicate through music and share stories has been a major influence. I have been able to use my experiences, gifts and hard work ethic to have goals to work hard, teach others and learn every day working at Muse music store! I am excited to teach beginner piano and ukulele lessons.  I look forward to being a positive influence in our community by sharing my passion for helping others and being the best version of me every day.

Hello! My name is Marina Flores and I have been teaching lessons at the Muse for about a year now. I have been singing ever since I can remember and have been teaching voice lessons for over two years. I recently started teaching beginner lessons in ukulele, piano, and flute! I also lead the choir at the Muse called The Muses. We are always looking for more voices to join our choir! Now a little bit of background on me: I have been in choirs since I was five years old and have taken private voice lessons throughout the years. I was in Chamber Choir when I was in high school and had the great opportunity of singing in Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia. Later, I attended Graceland University and Majored in Communication, and minored in Music, with a focus in Vocal Performance. I have also recently joined the Central Reformed Church as one of their vocalists!

Sean Six

My musical career began at the age of nine with a rented instrument and group lessons at Reifsnyder’s Music Shop in Ottumwa, Iowa. This shop had been in existence for quite some time and was the incubator for many local musicians. My interest continued and led me to private lessons. This included studying with Ottumwa’s very own, Tony Blew. With Tony I learned the blues and rock-n-roll.
