Athletic Training Services

Athletic Training Services may include injury evaluation, injury rehabilitation, injury prevention, and manual therapies. An initial visit includes injury evaluation followed by immediate same-day treatment. Follow-up visits include athletic training services as seen appropriate by the Certified Athletic Trainer and patient.

Student Athletic Training Services

A certified athletic trainer will conduct an injury evaluation and discuss goals. Manual therapies may be included and consist of Graston Technique, myofascial decompression ("cupping"), muscle releases, stretching, and more. the athletic trainer will go through rehabilitation and prevention exercises that can be incorporated into daily routines and exercise programs.

Keri Sotak

Owner & Certified Athletic Trainer Keri has been a Board Certified Athletic Trainer since 2012. She received her Bachelors in Athletic Training from the University of Iowa and Masters in Athletic Training from the University of Northern Iowa. Following graduate school, Keri worked at the University of California, Berkeley with the Football, Women's Lacrosse, Men's Water Polo, and Baseball teams for several years. Keri opened The Athletic Training Room in Oakland in 2017 after seeing a need for athletic training services in the community. Keri is experienced in various manual therapy and rehabilitation techniques, and truly enjoys helping individuals perform at their full potential and participate in the activities they love.

Maria Pearson

Maria is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Emergency Medical Technician with a variety of work and internship experience with D1 collegiate, high school, and CrossFit adaptive athletes as well as in the hospital, industrial and military settings. She graduated with her Bachelors in Athletic Training from San Diego State University in 2020. Maria is the Athletic Trainer at Franklin High School and member of the Elk Grove Fieldhouse team. She has experience in a variety of manual therapies including Myofascial Decompression (“Cupping”), instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and soft tissue releases.
