🧩Meet and greet with you and your child. We’ll discuss your respite care needs and go over any questions you may have.
Consultations for all new clients are MANDATORY. Awesome Respite cannot offer services without conducting a consultation with you and your child.
Respite for One Child
🧩Respite care for one child includes:
-care for your child
-travel services in your neighborhood (if needed)
-bath time (if needed)
-following your child’s routine as close as possible
Respite with Sibling
🧩Service includes care for one child and one sibling. There is a $5 additional charge per hour per sibling.
🧩Scheduled on a case by case basis. Include details about your planned trip such as projected arrival and departure times and travel accommodations.

Respite with Two Siblings
🧩Service includes care for one child with special needs and two siblings. There is a $5 additional charge per hour per sibling.
Deanna has been in the field of special education for the past ten years. She has experience working with children in public school systems, providing in-home care to adolescents, and serving as a therapeutic foster parent for over 15 years. Of those 15 years, 10 years were spent providing direct services to individuals with special needs, developmental disabilities, and the geriatric population. Additionally, she has served as a paraprofessional educator, an instructional assistant, a classroom aide, a residential counselor and has an associate's degree in communications.
Justin has been in the education field for the past 10 years. He has worked with a wide variety of students throughout his career. He has experience in public and private settings working with General Ed, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as other Developmental Disabilities. He has served as a Special Education Teacher, Physical Ed/Health Teacher, Adult, and Child Respite Aide, ABA Therapy, Behavior Specialist, Vocational Coordinator, Certified Medical Technician, Direct Support Staff and his current role as a Media Specialist Teacher. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, and has a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services, with a concentration in Counseling. He is also a graduate of University of Maryland University College, where he received his master’s degree in Instructional Technology. Justin also serves as the COO and Vice President of Awesome Respite.
Sabrina is committed to providing services to persons with developmental disabilities and their families. Sabrina has a combined 5 years of experience serving both adults and children with a variation of disabilities. Sabrina has serviced persons with special needs in various roles. She has served as a Direct Support Staff, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Substitute Paraprofessional, and as a Dedicated Aide. Her experience includes working with children with autism and behavioral needs. She also obtained a Child Development Associate credential. Sabrina serves as a Respite Care Technician for Awesome Respite providing respite in Howard County and Prince George's County.
Sharae has six years of experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Sharae has experience working in a range of settings including behavioral management clinics, special education classrooms, and community-based services. Sharae is an alumnus of Trinity Washington University where she earned her degree in General Studies. She is beginning her journey to obtain her Master's degree and become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Currently, Sharae serves as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and a Behavior Assistant. Sharae also serves as a Respite Care Technician for Awesome Respite providing respite in the Washington DC region.
Toya earned her BS degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Juvenile Justice from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She also obtained her MA degree in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Children and Families from Bowie State University. She offers 12+ years of experience working with children special needs. During this time, she has served as an adult and child respite aid, children and adolescents respite housing supervisor, behavior therapist, autism teaching assistant, ABA therapist, ABA lead special education teacher, and her current role, special education reading resource teacher. Toya serves as the Founder and CEO of Awesome Respite.
