This is a routine office visit that can be scheduled for a variety of medical concerns. Please note, Miri provides services as an adjunct to primary care. She is not currently taking patients as a primary care provider. Miri can provide medical consults to men, women and children of all ages. A general office visit usually lasts 30 mins.
Virtual Video Visit
Online video visits are available for minor medical issues such as bladder infections, pink eye or sinusitis. Video visits require patient access to a webcam and microphone. A smartphone app is available for ease of access. Virtual visits usually last 10-15 mins.
If you or your child are feeling ill, schedule an appointment for us to check you out, create a treatment plan and prescribe necessary medications.
Mom and baby are seen together for a double visit to evaluate and manage a breastfeeding problem. A full medical history is taken, a breastfeeding session is observed with pre and post weight feedings to determine milk transfer, a physical assessment is performed, and diagnoses are made. A breastfeeding plan is then created together including recommendations for mom and baby. This visit usually lasts 1.5 hours.

Annual GYN Exam
Schedule your annual well woman gynecologic checkup including contraceptive counseling, pap smear and annual screenings.
GYN Problem Visit
This visit is for treatment of gyn problems such as yeast, bacterial vaginosis, STD testing, and bladder infections. Medication can be prescribed if needed.
IUD Insertion or Removal
Miri provides IUD insertions for Mirena or Paragard IUDs for women desiring long term contraceptive management. She can also remove an IUD for a woman desiring pregnancy. This visit usually lasts 45 mins.
Depression and Anxiety Consult
Discussion of depression and anxiety symptoms, postpartum mood disorders, and options for treatment including counseling, meditation, exercise and prescription medication.
Prenatal Breastfeeding Consult
This session prepares a pregnant mother for breastfeeding ahead of time. For first time mothers, this is a chance to ensure that breastfeeding gets started on the right path. For a mother who has already breastfed, this is a chance to discuss any difficulties she may have had in the past and brainstorm ways to avoid previous pitfalls this time around. Latch and low milk supply issues are the most common topics discussed and prenatal interventions can be effective in avoiding these problems when breastfeeding is initiated. This session typically lasts 30 - 60 minutes.
Infant Weight Check with Brief Consult
Have your baby weighed on a medical grade infant scale to ensure adequate weight gain and have a short lactation consultation with our IBCLC. You and your baby will have a checkup and you will have a chance to review techniques, ask questions, go over any concerns or issues that you're having and get additional advice about breastfeeding your baby.
Schedule a checkup for yourself or your child. Physical/health forms for employment, school and summer camp will be completed during the visit.
Sexual Health Consult
Sexual health assessments for men and women. Discussion of risk management of STDs, contraception, and sexual concerns.
Discussion of a woman's menstrual cycle and basics of conception in order to increase your chances of getting pregnant soon. Information about how to attempt to conceive a boy or girl and any risk factors due to medical conditions that may occur with pregnancy.
Birth Control Consult
During this visit, you will have a chance to discuss various birth control options and your provider will help you learn about each option so you can figure out which is the best choice for you. Birth control can be prescribed at this visit.
Class - Breastfeeding Basics
Miri teaches a prenatal breastfeeding class for mothers who would like to learn more about how to breastfeed before they have their baby. This class is provided in a group setting or one on one in a private session. Any family members with an interest in breastfeeding are welcome to join. This session focuses on position and latch, breastfeeding anatomy, mechanics, hormones, benefits of breastfeeding, hand expression, working, pumping, milk storage, feeding signs, prenatal breastfeeding assessment, common pitfalls, infant care, and postpartum support. This is a single class that is open to moms, dads, grandparents, siblings, or others who will be supporting mom and baby with breastfeeding.
Class - Childbirth Crash Course
This session is a crash course in all things related to labor and birth. Taught from Miri's unique perspective as a midwife, doula, lactation consultant and mother, this class covers signs and symptoms of labor, mechanics and process of labor, comfort measures, labor medications, possible complications, vaginal versus cesarean birth, initial breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.

Class - Babies 101
Babies can be a lot of work and for many moms and dads, it can be hard to adjust to life with a new baby. This session focuses on ways to keep your baby calm, happy, and fed along with a discussion of sleep patterns, infant massage and newborn personalities. Baby carriers and wraps will be available for clients to try on and learn to use.

Class - Understanding Your Menstrual Cycle Class: Birth Control, Natural Family Planning and Trying to Conceive
Most women do not know the details of how their menstrual cycle works and are at a disadvantage when they experience physical or emotional changes at some point in their cycle. Come learn about the intricacies of the female hormones responsible for ovulation and vaginal bleeding and how they can affect you throughout the month. This class discusses the changes that occur in your body when you use a method of birth control, different methods to track your cycle, natural ways to prevent pregnancy, and ways to enhance your chances of getting pregnant when you are ready.

Class - Working and Pumping
Many breastfeeding mothers will be returning to work at some point during their breastfeeding journey. This visit is designed to create a plan for keeping your milk supply up by pumping at work and providing breast milk for your baby while you are away.
Miri is a Family and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She achieved her bachelors and masters of science in Midwifery and Women's Health from Columbia University in New York City. She then completed a post-masters certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Massachusetts. Miri is dedicated to helping women learn how to breastfeed and continue successfully. Miri is also passionate about supporting women and families throughout the lifespan.
