Dear valued clients, Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak we are implementing the following protective measures: please do not schedule within 2 weeks of any sign/symptom of cold, flu or nasal allergies, only the person receiving the treatment may enter the spa, all temperatures will be taken at the door before entry, shoes must be removed, hands sprayed with rubbing alcohol, and masks must be worn by all clients and therapists at all times. We are only taking bookings at 50% capacity to allow for cleaning and disinfecting between treatments, and all yoga classes are suspended until Virginia permits us to reopen with less than 10 feet distance between each yogi. We thank you for your patience and support. Thanks, and stay safe!

Ayurveda Hot GemStone Therapy: Shila Abhyanga

Shila Abhyanga (hot stone massage) is a gentle relaxation massage with your choice of phytotherapy (natural plant-based medicine) warm oils or cool creams infused with powdered amethyst, incorporating steam packs, steamy towels, warm and cool basalt stones, and warm jade, amethyst, and tourmaline massage stones. These gemstones' piezoelectric effect (when warmed) is that they emit far infrared radiation which penetrates the skin and causes cellular regeneration and a sense of well-being. The warm stones flow with each stroke, flipping, spinning, and pressing the muscles and marmani (vital energy points), improving circulation and muscle tone, while the cool stones relieve inflammation, leading to a deep sense of peace and contentment.

Ayurveda Lymphatic Detoxification Therapy: Garshana & Cupping

Derived from Ayurveda, the oldest system of medicine of which we have written record, Lymphatic Detoxification is light-touch relaxation massage with profound effects on the lymph, nervous, and endocrine systems. Your treatment begins with a warm aromatherapy foot soak and scrub followed by garshana (whole-body dry brushing with raw silk or textured gloves) to remove dead skin cells, encourage micro circulation to the skin, and stimulate lymph flow. After a nurturing soft-touch massage application of handmade natural phytotherapy (plant-based medicine) cream, varying diameters of cups are placed on the skin and pressure removed within the cups as they slide along nerve and lymph pathways, alleviating pain, reducing scar tissue and adhesions in the fascia, removing stagnation in the tissues, and promoting circulation and detoxification.
