Microneedling

First time Microneedling clients must complete a Microneedling consultation. Microneedling is a procedure that activates collagen synthesis by creating micro injuries to the upper layers of the skin. Anticipated outcomes include a reduction in visible pores, acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, and other skin textural irregularities. The treatment is performed during a 60-minute session. A topical anesthetic is applied to the skin prior to needling to increase comfort. Mild discomfort may be experienced during the procedure and is generally well tolerated. A warm sunburn sensation is expected following the treatment and dissipates within a few hours. Mild to moderate erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) can last for several hours. It is advised to refrain from any physical activities that would increase the temperature of the body and cause perspiration until redness and swelling has resolved. Photosensitivity increases immediately post treatment and sun exposure should be avoided for 2 weeks. A full physical SPF must be worn for 24 hours following treatment. Anticoagulant therapy including aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen should not be taken prior to treatment (please check with your primary care physician before discontinuing any prescribed medications). Retin-A, tretinoin, retinol, AHA, BHA, skin care products must be discontinued 1 week prior to treatment and can be resumed 1 week post treatment. 2 weeks prior to treatment refrain from having waxing, chemical peels, laser, and injectables treatments. Resume 2 weeks post treatment. Make-up must not be worn for 24 hours after treatment. Post skin care products will be recommended to you. Please contact us if you have questions about this service
