Reiki is a holistic energy healing technique originating in Japan and has found its way all over the world in the past 100 years. Reiki can be performed hands on, with light touch, or hands off as appropriate. Clients remain fully clothed and remain on their back while lying on a massage table. Blankets, bolsters, and pillows are provided for comfort and positioning, but it is recommended you wear soft cozy socks for all sessions to help with temperature regulation. During the treatment many report sensations similar to tingling or a soothing heat. You may only feel a deep sense of calm similar to what is achieved during meditation. Reiki energy works on physical, emotional, and spiritual blockages to allow the body, mind, and spirit to heal naturally. Reiki treatment is not a substitute for medical treatment, but is an adjunct modality that works in harmony with your current medication/wellness routines. Time for consultation before and after built into the treatment time.
