My name is Ahna Firmin, I’m 15, and I am a lesson instructor at Behind the Bit. I had ridden horses earlier in life, but I really started getting into horses when my mom got her horse Sequoia in June of 2016. Since then, Sequoia has been boarded at Behind the Bit where I have been taking lessons from Zoe Weston. I’ve spent every moment I can at the barn learning to properly care for, ride, and understand each horse. I enjoy working with horses and they’re different personalities because you can learn something different from each of them. My favorite part about working with different riders is sharing my passion and experiences of horses with others. My other interests include volleyball, four wheeling, and snow machining, which I enjoy when I’m not spending every moment at the barn. I look forward to working with new and returning students, helping them find they’re inner riding passion. I can be reached via phone (Call/Text) at (907) 406-2226

Shyanne Holly is a lifelong horse enthusiast and has owned her American Quarter Horse Hottie for 8 years. Throughout high school, Shyanne participated in the Rebel Riders Trick Team and the Cadence Varsity Drill Team, both part of the Alaska Youth Equestrian Club. In 2016, Shyanne stepped down from the teams in order to pursue her desire to reign as Miss Rodeo Alaska where she wound up competing against 31 other girls for the title of Miss Rodeo American 2017 in Las Vegas. After meeting her husband Bradyn, the couple took over coaching the teams that make up the Alaska Youth Equestrian Club, bringing Shyanne back to her old stomping grounds to bestow her knowledge onto the next generation of riders. Now happily married, Shyanne still enjoys trail riding on Hottie and teaching youth about horses any chance she gets. She can be reached at 907-441-1558.
