Neuromuscular Therapy 45 Mins
Modest athletic wear is appropriate for this session as there will be no undressing and no oil. Dress like you would for a cool weather run.
After discussing your condition and doing a few tests to discover where the problem lies, I will palpate the entirety of the muscles involved looking for points where the muscle has "locked up" or failed to entirely relax due to a lack of available nutrients at the time of contraction. These, when active, will create what we call referred pain, meaning it radiates, shoots, or is entirely elsewhere from where the point is touched. We refer to these points as trigger points as they often trigger the pain or symptom we are attempting to treat. Sometimes this can feel like burning, itching, numbness, or tingling. Feedback is required here as too much pressure will inflame the condition and too little will not cause the point relax. We want the referred sensation to be a five on a scale of one to ten. The point will be held at that level of pressure until the sensation either subsides or grows more intense. In the second case, we will move on from that point and come back to it when other related trigger points have been addressed. When the therapy session is complete we will reassess your condition.
