Meet & Greet
Want to learn more but not ready for an appointment or class? Schedule a no pressure meet and greet to get a feel for my practice, and care that can be expected without having the need to book an appointment. These are typically done via phone, but in person visits are available as well.
Savvy Birth Parent Workshop (3 hours)
Learning objective covered in the 3-hour workshop include: Define evidence-based care ,discuss the availability and pros/cons of local birth options, practice respectful ways to talk with your provider, discuss how partners, doulas, and nurses can work together to provide labor support, describe the benefits and limitations of birth plans, and discuss the human and legal rights of birthing persons.
Savvy Birth 101 (1 hour)
Learning objectives covered in Savvy Birth 101 include define evidence-based care and discuss the difference between evidence-based care and routine care, describe how the power system works in most hospital labor and delivery units, and discuss ways to create a team-based atmosphere in the birthing room, so that you and your partner can get evidence-based, family-centered care.
Refresher Birth Class
The Refresher Class is a one-session review for couples who have already given birth before. This is a private class and tailored for your specific needs. We can review any or all of the following: Anatomy & How the Body Works, Stages of Labor, Pain Management Techniques, Labor Positions, Drugs & Interventions, Birth Plans, Postpartum, Breastfeeding, etc. THIS CLASS IS HELD AT FLOURISH BABY.
Prenatal Consultation
Prevent breastfeeding problems from ever happening! Many families have easier breastfeeding experiences when they have prenatal lactation support, more so if you have certain risk factors. Benefits of a prenatal appointment include more confidence, less difficulties latching, ample milk supply, easier breastfeeding experience, and personalized plan & support. During the appointment, we will outline your breastfeeding goals, address any questions or concerns you have, identify potential challenges, and create a personalized plan. Prenatal consultations are $30 and can be done in person at Flourish, Baby (recommended) or via phone.
New Client Lactation Consultation
Please select this service if you've never had a lactation consultation appointment with Amanda. Home visits are available for those within 20 miles of Flourish Baby. You may call 303.601.5689 or send an email to AmandaDean@pm.me if you have questions. You're also welcome to book your consultation at Amanda's home office. Payment for the consultation is due at the time of service. If requested, a lactation super bill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company, however I cannot guarantee reimbursement for services. Until your appointment, please keep a baby log including nursing sessions, wet/dirty diapers, sleeping patterns, etc. If this is your first appointment, you’ll be emailed the new client paperwork. This does need to be completed for your appointment.
Lactation Consultation - Short Appointment
In-person consultations are $60 for a short appointment (up to 1 hour) and $90 for a long appointment (1-3 hours). If you appointment takes more than 1 hour, you will be charged for a long appointment. Payment for the consultation is due at the time of service. If requested, a lactation super bill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance company, however I cannot guarantee reimbursement for services. Until your appointment, please keep a baby log including nursing sessions, wet/dirty diapers, sleeping patterns, etc. If this is your first appointment, you’ll be emailed the new client paperwork. Working & Breastfeeding
Leaving your baby to return to work or school is hard, regardless of the feeding method chosen. Breastfeeding mothers who are able to pump for their babies have the special satisfaction of knowing that they are providing their priceless milk for their new baby even when they are separated. This is a comprehensive class to prepare parents for the return to work or school. This is a Live, 2-Hour Online Class.

You must sign up for Anticipatory Guidance prior to booking this appointment. Please visit Flourish-Baby.com to learn more. If you're already registered for this service, please continue with booking. These appointments are done via phone (unless you’ve signed up for a Blossom Birth & Breastfeeding Package or the Thrive Lactation Package). Until your appointment, please keep a baby log including nursing sessions, wet/dirty diapers, sleeping patterns, etc. If this is your first appointment, you’ll be emailed the new client paperwork. This does need to be completed for your appointment.
Anticipatory Guidance Check In (In Person)
You must sign up for Anticipatory Guidance prior to booking this appointment. Please visit Flourish-Baby.com to learn more. In person anticipatory guidance check ins are only if you’ve signed up for a Blossom Birth & Breastfeeding Package or the Thrive Lactation Package. If you are not signed up for in person check ins, please book a normal lactation consultation appointment. Until your appointment, please keep a baby log including nursing sessions, wet/dirty diapers, sleeping patterns, etc. If this is your first appointment, you’ll be emailed the new client paperwork. This does need to be completed for your appointment.
Aromatherapy Consultation
Essential oils are a great way to help make pregnancy, birth, and postpartum more comfortable, and promote health and wellness. We can create products to support the whole family. There is a $60 consultation fee plus the cost of your product(s). Whenever possible, products will be made at the time of the appointment. Aromatherapy consultations are only available at the office.
Savvy Birth Pro Workshop
This class is for birth professionals and learning objectives include: Define evidence-based care and discuss statistics on the quality of birth settings in our local community, discuss the major reasons why we have an evidence-practice gap, including the power hierarchy and how it is a barrier to evidence-based, family-centered care, discuss ways that we can bridge the evidence-practice gap at the system level, and discuss specific strategies we can use to help our clients obtain evidence-based care. By attending the workshop and completing an online evaluation, you will earn a certificate for 3 contact hours from Evidence Based Birth®, a continuing education provider for the Kentucky Board of Nursing # 7-0081. Nursing contact hours can be applied to most childbirth educator and doula certifications, as well as the Certified Professional Midwife credential.
